Spoil Yourself With A Jetted Bathtub

Tubs containing water jets are often called small whirlpool bathtubs or more commonly, Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi gets its name from the Jacuzzi Brothers and specifically Candido Jacuzzi who designed the first small jetted bathtubs.

These tubs became popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s as tubs containing a series of water circulating jets hit the scene. The Jacuzzi is really a brand of hot tub that is so popular that its name is synonymous with all small jetted bathtubs. What originally began as an aircraft propeller manufacturing company, is now the biggest manufacturer and most popular of hot tubs. The invention came about when one of the Jacuzzi brothers decided to use knowledge to develop a bathtub pump that was submersible in water.

Candido Jacuzzi installed jets in his own bathtub in 1948 to help his 15 month old son Kenneth who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. In 1955, the brothers marketed the pump as the J-300. It was a portable device that anyone could use in their own bathtub. Its use grew and the medical community adopted it for purposes of helping with all types of ailments.

Candido marketed the first whirlpool bathtub in 1968 which was fully equipped with jets in the sides of the tub. Hollywood celebrities clamored for them and used them inside and outside of their homes. Suzanne Somers became the spokeswoman in the early 1970’s and was the company’s first celebrity endorsement.

Today the Jacuzzi is found most everywhere from hotel rooms to home bathrooms to outdoor resorts and even at ski lodges, inside and out in the snow. Small jetted bathtubs occupy less room than standard bathtub of 5 feet in length. Individual homes can benefit from a little retreat of their own with a jetted bathtub, a hot towel rack, big soft towels, candles, soft music, bubbles and more. Everyone from lovers to mothers to business executives can escape after a long day, in their own private oasis as they let the stress of the day melt away.

The medical benefits are enormous. Bathtubs for small bathrooms are used to relieve arthritic conditions as well as muscle strains and sprains. Hydrotherapy for muscle aches, strains, pulls and tears is a standard now at most gyms and spas. The pressure from the jets mimic a massaging agent while the wet heat permeates the body better than any medicine in a bottle.

Those who choose small jetted bathtubs can reap their own health benefits with a vast array of appealing designs. From small square bathtubs, to circular to rectangular, these jetted tubs are coveted in any home where relaxation is valued. No one can resist the warmth and pulsating jets. These tubs are appealing during any season of the year. Some tubs sit outside and are used year round, even during snow storms, while others have them positioned by fireplaces in their homes. No matter where they are situated, a home with a jetted bathtub has an advantage over home without. The people inside are happier and much more relaxed.
